Application is invited to apply for Kyoto University ADB-JSP Scholarship In Japan 2025. This is a fully funded Japanese scholarship program for international students to undertake Master’s and graduate degree programs.

The Asian Development Bank’s Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) provides opportunities for qualified citizens of the ADB member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in development-related fields. Kyoto University is now one of the destination institutions for the program and opens the field
for the incoming student.

Please read the details below and if you wish to apply for this scholarship, please send the required
documents mentioned below with the application for the International Project Management Program
(i-PM) to Graduate School of Management (GSM) Administrative Office by the application period
(Aug.29-Sep.16, 2024).

Scholarship Benefits

The ADB-JSP will cover;

  1. tuition fees,
  2. travel expenses,
  3. subsistence allowance of approximately 147,000 yen/month,
  4. medical/accident insurance,
  5. books/instructional material and research allowances,
  6. miscellaneous. *You are required to submit a financial report every 6 months and need to keep all the receipts for the goods you have purchased from this fund.

Eligibility

All applicants of the ADB-JSP must:

A national of an ADB borrowing member. Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country. Gained admission to an approved i-PM course at Kyoto University. A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record.

At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application. Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.

Not more than 35 years old at the time of application. (*Our program is not specified for senior officials and managers by ADB. Therefore, the age limit is not more than 35 years old.)

In good health and should agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program. (Required to work in his/her home country more than 2 years after that.)

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Niue, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam.

How To Apply the Kyoto University ADB Scholarship?

Please prepare the following document(s) soon after the date of announcement of successful
applicants.

Income certificate(s): Individual annual income should be issued by the current employer and family
income (parents/spouse) should be certified true copy or notarized, in English with a US$ equivalent.
If parents are unemployed or deceased, these should also be certified or notarized.
